Data Grievance (SNAG)

If you believe your personal data has been mishandled, you have the right to raise a grievance with Matta under the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023 and the General Application and Implementation Directive (GAID). This page explains how to submit a Standard Notice to Address Grievance (SNAG).

What to include

To help us investigate promptly, please provide:

Your details — full name, phone number, email address, and (optionally) your contact address.
The respondent — the data controller, processor or person the grievance concerns, where known.
Nature of the violation — for example: unauthorised access to personal data, loss of records, inaccurate personal data, identity theft, lack of a privacy policy, lack of transparency on processing, denial of access to your data, unsolicited messages, preselected non-essential cookies, unlawful automated processing, unauthorised disclosure, or other.
Type of data involved — whether sensitive or non-sensitive personal data, and the specific data types.
Particulars — when and where it happened, who was involved, and how.
Any loss suffered — whether you have suffered loss as a result, with details.
